For some students, these are isolated incidents. For others, they are experiences that happen again and again.
My talks are not about assigning blame. They are about creating understanding, strengthening community and ensuring that more students feel seen, heard and included.
Why do i give these talks?
I do not give these talks because I have only studied racism.
I give them because I have lived it.
I attended a Danish primary school and upper secondary school where I experienced racism. At the time, I wished someone had helped both me and my classmates understand what was happening and given us the language to talk about it.
Today, I deliver the talks I wish I had experienced as a student.
